My name is Jo. I am a qualified, experienced Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist, with over ten years’ experience, bringing my own unique twist to your therapeutic experience.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve always been interested in why we do the things we do and, more importantly, how we can feel better about ourselves, each other, and our lives.

Having worked in the helping profession for over 25 years I’ve gained some fascinating insights into why we do the things we do and, more importantly, how we can do things differently so that we can enjoy life more.

Over the last ten years I have built my Hypnotherapy practice by word of mouth and recommendations alone; consistently investing in my professional development, discovering how to help people get to where they want be….and quickly.

This means I have acquired a solid reputation for helping people of all ages to make positive changes that last.

Professional Background

In my former career as Youth and Community Worker, Community Education Manager and Charity Chief Executive I gained a breath of knowledge, skills and experience working with:

  • Teens and their parents
  • Young people struggling with emotional and behavioural difficulties,
  • People affected by HIV
  • People having difficulty getting pregnant, and struggling with fertility issues, and
  • People wanting to explore ways to optimise their health in a holistic way.

Some of my most fascinating experiences involved working on the streets of a busy city centre with some of the most vulnerable people including street drinkers, homeless people, young runaways, people struggling with addictions, survivors of childhood abuse, and young offenders.

Here I met some of the most fascinating, resourceful, and generous people who shared their personal life stories with me, along with their last cigarette (yes, I did smoke back then – not anymore, thankfully). Most of these people had one simply goal in mind: to feel better about themselves.

Consequently in 1998 I was introduced to the then very new approach to talking therapy – Solution Focused Brief Therapy. My curiosity was ignited, along with a desire to learn much more and offer powerful, uplifting conversations to my clients.

My personal STory

Jo Stallard

I would be delighted to chat with you and explore how I can help you to create your own route map to feeling better. Maybe you are seeking to:

Release your fears and experience freedom from them

Understand depression, to help yourself or someone you care for

Overcome and let go of phobias and other anxiety related disorders

Manage pain

Let go of addictions or other unwanted habits

Enhance your confidence & self-esteem

Come to terms with grief and loss

Enhance the quality of your sleep

Be in control of your own life

Learn to feel happy, alive, and well

It’s pretty simple; I have been ‘there’ too. There have been those periods in my life when things have felt so overwhelming that I’ve felt frozen in time – not knowing where to go, what to do or who to trust.

I have experienced a lot of talking therapy as the client. I was that client who outwardly appeared happy, fun-loving, successful and enjoying life. But inwardly I secretly harboured fears and overwhelming feelings of self-doubt, along with low self-esteem. It was exhausting. And very depressing. Resulting in panic attacks and social anxiety.

I would often leave a counselling session feeling much worse than when I arrived! Often feeling ashamed about my perceived lack of ability to cope and thinking there was no hope. I felt hopeless.

Having hit another and very hard, brick wall in my 30’s, I felt as though my sanity was tittering on the edge. I was willing to try anything to help guide myself out of this psychological mess and find a way to cope better.

At this point I discovered Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and experienced huge relief to know there was, in fact, nothing wrong with me, as such! Simply put; I was thinking and behaving in ways that were fuelling my own stress.

So, a new journey of self-discovery began – I really started to understand myself; understanding how my mind works, why I felt the way I did, how hypnosis could (and most definitely did) help and I started to live life with brand new perspective. I finally felt empowered to make changes.

Having learnt how to turn things around quickly and cope better with life’s challenges I created my own unique route map to a better way of thinking…feeling…being.

I was so impressed, and hugely fascinated, by the rapid results that I just knew I had to learn more and share this with other people. And so, the journey continues….
